TTPB: That is the first time I have seen someone get accepted at Iowa State with a GPA lower than 3 in EE. Congrats !! Could I ask what specialization did you apply to?

My primary application was in pure math. A professor from ECE took interest and offered me a position after the interview.

Ttpb: (the one who was told about the funding) Which track? Can you please tell the initials of the POI?

POI said they received funding for more students recently

NIT Btech graduate in ECE. 9.64CGPA. 2.5 year work experience in electronics core company. Decent profile, projects across Electronics and Computer Science

Has UC Berkeley notified all admits for their MEng in EECS program? Does that mean those who haven't received any email yet are rejected? P.S. Congrats to the ones who have received acceptance!

[Not Waitlist] TTPB: UMich has a strange policy regarding the funding of Ph.D. Students. As far as I know, prospective advisors have to arrange the funding for the entire 4 years (~200k) when accepting students. In most schools, only the funding for the first year is guaranteed, and advisors arrange fundings yearly (~50k). Thus, funding is probably problematic for most of the groups, and they are waiting for some admitted students to decline the offer to send new offers.

To the three posts below me regarding Michigan Ann Arbor, same here. I applied to power and energy track, and from the results on this site, not many have been selected on that track. Someone even mentioned here that maybe that group doesn't have funding

Wow, they made us wait for it this year! I got the email recommending me for admission at 12:06 am PST. For future applicants looking back at grad cafe to try to figure out when your admissions decisions you can't trust previous years to project when you'll sit back. My recommendation is to avoid looking at this website as much as possible!. Congrats to everyone else who received acceptances!!

TTPB: Congrats! Which track did you get admitted to?

It's now the end of March and still heard absolutely nothing. An email I received in January said all decisions would be out by March 15th. What's going on? Is it just delays or should I worry there's something wrong with my application?

To the WTF dude: I am pretty sure they are waiting for the admitted students to report their decision. Therefore, the professors can still find students in the wait listed pool if the student they gave an offer decline it.
