To the poetry waitlist, I plan to attend a different school for some pretty interesting reasons. I was floored at the acceptance but I am sure that ambivalence at such a program would be counterproductive. Rejected from IWW with a handwritten note that said: “Beautiful prose.†This one stung because as part of my writing sample, I sent them the first 60 pages of my novel (which I had never shown to anyone outside of friends and family). I suppose that at least is some feedback or semblance that they liked it. Waiting to hear back from 3 more programs. Let’s see how it goes. What a comfort and camaraderie this board has been.
