Received an email to check the online status portal. Official notification from department.

Supposedly they haven’t gotten their full departmental budget yet and could only admit a small number initially and the rest are waitlisted... some people got a 100% generic cut/paste notification. Mine was slightly personalized one but still vague. Hopeful because it was a good fit, but not holding my breath.

Was unofficially accepted on February 3, but received my official offer today. Got an email to check the portal, where they posted the letter.

First acceptance after a few painful rejections, happy to have one at least!

To the poster below, could you share your field?

To the post below, can you please tell me what field did you applied for? Like did you apply for high energy theory or condensed matter experimental or any thing else?

Accepted after the interview a week ago.

I am an international student from India. My PGRE scores were average, compared to what Asians usually score. I have a first-authored paper and some other short term research experienced from reputed institutes and my course grades are pretty good. Got an email to check website. I wish everyone the best!

Was invited to attend Grad-Recruitment Weekend (33 total students invited!). I'm interested in cognitive robotics and reinforcement learning research. No PIs reached out to me, but when I reached out to some they said they already scheduled a time to talk with me during the event.
