I emailed Lyn on Friday afternoon and just got a response this morning. In her email, she said that the official welcome letter will be coming soon, but did not say if it will be by mail or email.

Emailed Lyn Smith, who got back to me about the decision. Excited, but a little weary to read some of the feedback on here about the program... Anyone else have any insight?

Yeah, it's a bummer since the program seems great. When I saw that on the other website, I made an effort to speak with multiple people who had gone there in recent years and they ALL confirmed it. I just wouldn't be happy in that kind of environment anyway (not an issue now since I didn't get in anyway :P)

Like the poster below, I was a little shocked as it's my first rejection and I was anticipating at least a wait-list, but I was going to decline either way. I've heard some pretty negative things about the school that made me weary. Congrats to those who made the cut though!

Because they were taking so long, I actually called and got my admission status. I was def. shocked because I’m a top shot student in SLP with unbeatable research experience and competitive grades/other experiences n awards....admitted on full-ride to top programs elsewhere.... Sucks for Vandy.
