We appreciate your interest in the Graduate School and wish you success in your future studies."

kinda shocked. great fit, spoke to a faculty member who liked my research interest. letter was kind of mean too. oh well.

Rejected, the weirdest email: Your credentials and application for admission, as a graduate student to West Virginia University, were forwarded to the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences for the program in Sociology. I regret to advise you that your request for acceptance into this program was not approved. If you have questions concerning this decision, please refer to this website for academic contacts. ALSO, I called them and emailed a lot, because my application status was awaiting for more than month although everything! was submitted + application fee paid. They said if they can't process by the time, they won't be able to read my application! (I paid application fee and all recs were submitted) Really rude school, I have never experienced such treatment...

Insanely impersonal, rude, and obvious that they don't care because that application money has already been paid. "Your application for the program listed below has been denied. We understand this might be a disappointing outcome. Please contact the program directly if you have any questions about this decision."

Checked portal and saw denial, got a message a minute later to check the portal. Not surprised, not my best SOP. Local applicant, previous acceptance to different masters program at UO. 4.0 gpa masters in soc. My interest is super niche though and I’m holding out hope as the last two schools I’m waiting on are my top picks. 5r/0a/2 to go
