Applied for MA (later accepted an admin’s offer to be considered for PhD too) - got email saying they don’t accept anyone to the program without full funding

Emailed two separate people within the department after no news since December. No response for two weeks until finally one of them responded to let me know that I’m not even being considered for admission. So where was the rejection letter?

Apply for the joint-degree program between comparative literature and Asian studies without GRE and language test report. Even though they claim the GRE is not compulsory, but it does decrease one's competitiveness not having one. Not my first choice anyway.

Did PSU already send out results? They said there would be final results in two weeks after the interview day. However, I did not receive any decisions. Is there anyone who got an admission? Maybe, I am rejected......

Email was lying in my inbox for two weeks. Applied for HEP-th (Center for Fundamental Theory). One year research experience after graduation. No publications.

Simultaneous auto-email to check status plus second personalized email from department. I am HEP-TH, haven't entirely narrowed it down so I expressed interest in most areas of Gravity, Cosmology, Particle Physics. Mediocre PGRE, 3.8 Physics GPA, double major in math, good LORs (at least one excellent, maybe more), some varied research experience and an honors thesis (math) but no publications. I was starting to give up hope on Penn State, but they even gave me fellowships for extra money on top of the TA stipend. So, if you're still waiting - maybe it's not too late!

I wrote to the school of EECS asking about the applications, the response was that they should start rolling in March
