TTPB: I was told by the professor that he would take me in his group in the month of February after he took my interview in December. I did contact the professor and the university admissions committee after the decision on my admit was made. Apparently the professor has lost his funding from a firm due to COVID-19 and thus is not taking any new students this year. | ||||

TTPB: I am sorry to hear that. Could you share when you the professor told you that you are in? How long between the professor's claim and the university decision? Did you contact the professor to inquire what had happen and ask him if the admission sent you this rejection by mistake? | ||||

Pathetic by Penn. Sent their decision quite late. Around 15 days after the 15th April National Deadline. I was told by a prof over there that he would take me in and hence I rejected the other offer I had on 15th April. And now I get a rejection letter from UPenn. Note to everyone applying next year: Do not believe prof, their fundings are quite fickle. | ||||

No E-Mail notification was sent to check my status; I only checked my application page and saw that I have been admitted. In the offer letter, it was stated that the department is not offering any form of funding of financial assistance to me at this time. I consider this as a subtle rejection. TTPB, were you given any funding in your offer letter? | ||||
