Adding to the below post.. Congratulations to those who got the offer! But, if you have not accepted the offer and have better choices, it would be so much appreciated if you can decline the offer asap. Thank you so much!!

generic rejection -- not shocking, as I didn't get an interview (still super sad though!)

Didn't take GRE. Emailed them to ask for decisions. Then they reply I am waitlisted.

I am writing with an update as to the status of your application; your application was ranked highly, but was not selected in the first round of admissions, and therefore you are currently on our waitlist. PLEASE PLEASE REJECT your offer if you have other priority programs 😭 MIT is my top choice and I really want to make it. Crossing my fingers a miracle from god happens 🤞

University of Waterloo grad, no conference papers, one undergraduate research experience in an unrelated domain of computer science, many internships. Rough cumulative GPA due to a couple of terms where I really struggled with completing schoolwork, due to external sources. Not very surprised at the result. Honestly, if anybody has any advice for how I can turn my chances next time I apply, despite not being able to change my GPA, I'd love to hear it in the comments.

Technically EECS application. Two previous NSF REUs. Two+ years of research experience during undergrad in physics/ECE. Two primary-author publications. All good, I got into another program that I am happy about! Good luck to everyone!

6 first-authored papers at top conferences

Thank you for declining me on Pi day, MIT.
