Short waitlist

To the ling poster below: from the conversations I had with CUNY faculty, they only take about 3 or so ling students every other year--I'm pretty sure this was a skip year for them :( (I applied to the sociocultural track but was interested in work by ling anth faculty)

placed on a short waitlist - will be notified by no later than May 31

No interview, received waitlist notice by email. "While we are not able to offer you admission at this time, we have placed you on a short waitlist for admission to the program for Fall 2021."

Nothing showing on my portal, no emails. I saw that some other anthropology disciplines have been notified so I wonder if Linguistic just goes by a different timeline? This is my second year applying for this program at CUNY. Last year I had an interview but no invitation to interview this year :/

Guess I am going to UC Berkeley, because now I am officially a Stanford Reject. JK. Just a rejection. Good luck to everyone else, love and peace to all!

Did not receive any email regarding admission but saw in the portal I was rejected over a week ago. Oh well. Congrats to those accepted. (Physical Anthro)

To the person below asking abt Vanderbilt... I am applying to the bioarch track and have had an interview. It was relatively informal and I haven't received an offer yet. But in my experience my POI is really nice and open to questions over email. it might help to email and ask about application status. Hope this helps!

Seems that acceptances for UCLA have already gone out a few days back, but has anyone gotten a confirmed rejection? Seems from past years like they don't bother informing rejected candidates. But I'd really like the waiting agony to be over with one way or another.
