TPB: regarding funding, official offers, etc., they said they're hoping to get them out by end of this week, so don't panic if you haven't received your official offer yet. When I reached out to them today, they said they're working on getting them out by end of week. It sounds like standard stipend for out of state students, net fees etc., is $2300/month for the academic year. Hope this helps answer some of your questions.

I wonder if someone is willing to contact the admissions department regarding the official offer and funding decisions :)

The admissions committee emailed me in December telling me that my application was incomplete because I did not take the TOEFL. Keep in mind that I am from a country where English is the official language, that I completed my entire undergraduate degree with Honors in the US and that my work experience is ample proof of my english proficiency, which is why I did not bother to take the TOEFL in the first place. However, the email was vague and did not suggest that I would not be considered for admissions without TOEFL. It simply hinted at the fact that I would not be able to serve as a TA. So, I figured that I would rely on other forms of funding (Research Assistantship, fellowships etc) and that it's not that big of a deal. What the email did not mention is that without TOEFL, my application would be tossed aside and would not even be considered for admission by the committee. I am very disappointed by their lack of clarity and professionalism. I also got into better programs, so I guess it was meant to happen.

TPB: I see that you are an international student. Were you asked to fulfill the English Proficiency requirement? (or you might have fulfilled it by submitting your TOEFL score along w your application). I don't think you should be worried.

Did anyone else get an updated status notification from UCI? I thought it was going to contain the funding details but it was just an acceptance letter.

This email from UCI is very confusing, since I never complete my application for UCI. Key materials such as CV, transcript, SoP have never been submitted. So either the staffs in UCI have made some low-level mistakes, or they sent everyone an waiting list email. But I think the possibility of the latter case is rare. Just remind those who are put in the waiting list: maybe you should check about your rank in the waiting list.

I did not receive an official offer. I received an informal email notifying me that I had been admitted, and was told that the official offer, with funding information, would go out by the end of next week.
