To the previous poster: Was the website apply.grad.uci, or is there another that regularly updates your status? Mine has not changed from "Submitted", but I think interview invitations were already sent out, making me think I was rejected too. Thanks!

Just got an email saying I'm admitted to the program, no prof has contacted me.

Received an email from the professor that I asked to work with asking to speak about my research interests over the phone. Was given verbal admission at the end of the call with emails of confirmation to follow.

Email from the Vice Provost for Graduate Education Dean of the Graduate Division, similar to the notes below, it was a general Thank you for applying and letting me know that my application is now being reviewed by the department. I believe we receive one notification when we first submit the application and then this second email was a notice that it is now up to the department.

Received a positive email from a potential supervisor (who I clearly mentioned on my application) with some extra info. I believe the strange "Thank you for your application" email from yesterday signaled the time at which application packages were delivered to individual faculty members.

Received a 'thank you' email too. A friend of mine also received this. I submitted my application on 12/15.
