Admission letter appeared in my spam.

Never got an email. Checked the application website and found a decision letter informing me of rejection. Needless to say, pretty bummed.

NIH-funded PREP Scholar at top 5 biomedical research university. 2 years in PREP and 1 BioREU at same institution; 1 semester at undergraduate institution. Interviewing at 5 other top tier universities. Graduate admissions really are such a black box. Good luck!

Standard rejection

Applied in late August 2020. Called the week of Sept. 19th for application status, was told over the phone that I got admitted. On Sept. 19th, I received the official acceptance email.

To the poster for the HDFS program below. Can you tell me the initials of the PI you wanted to work with and if it seemed like a generic letter?

GPA is grad. Interviewed with the program director on 1/14. He said they'll take 6 students who will all receive a research assistantship.

So pleased!

Got informal email from a faculty member in the program, got official acceptance a few days later. Still waiting on funding determination.

Received an email offering time slots for a 10 minute interview with Admissions committee.

Talked to my POI and she let me know that I didn't make it in. A little bummed out, but got to take the bad with the good.
