Received department notice on 17th February, moved to BoGS, received official offer 03/03/2017.

(Law Poster responding to Query.) My research proposal concerns aspects of European Law. I haven't been interviewed, but I had email correspondence with a potential supervisor in February and he told me that he would be willing to supervise me in the event that I am made an offer by the Degree Committee.

MPhil in Early Modern History. EU student. Application sent 03/01/17 (UK date format), under application by the Degree Committee in January-February, awaiting decision by the BoGS from 03/03/17, offer made 14/03/17. Now hoping for funding!

To the poster below: have you had an interview? And what field of law are you in?

Heritage and Museums specialisation. Applied in early December, accepted via website on 14 February, email sent the day after. AHRC interview at the end of January. Funding offered by AHRC and ESRC yesterday, rejected by Gates. (EU applicant, MPhil from Cambridge). Good luck, guys!

Did anyone status change already to something different than "Under Consideration by Department" ?

This is absolutely ridiculous. It's taking far too long to hear back.

Just thinking about one question. Has anyone been rejected after moving to BoGS?

After my post below about waiting more than two weeks for BOGS approval, I received an offer today.

MA graduate (with a near perfect GPA and years of relevant EU-level experience)

AHRC funding offer for an arts and humanities subject (would rather not say which). Email out of the blue.

Could a rejection from Gates scholarship be a good sign? That really is an interesting question. I thought everyone who applied for this scholarship would get a rejection email.... Not everyone received rejection email today? (Except ones who are invited to the interview, good luck) Last week, cambridge trust mentioned that they started to sent out scholarship results to the "first few" successful PhDs. There still is a hope.... Fingers crossed everybody!

I sent the Cambridge Trust an email last week asking when the Cambridge International Scholarship offers will be sent out, and I received this reply today: "The Trust’s funding decisions will be made from the end of March through to the June. As soon as a decision has been made on your application we will be in contact with you." END of March!

Rejected for Gates Cambridge. Still under consideration by department.

I know it is a weird question but does being considered and rejected by Gates Scholarship be a positive sign for your PhD application? like do Gates consider everyone or some applicants based on recommendation by the department?

To the poster below asking about feedbacks from Sociology Phd decisions, I've sent emails to the department about it two weeks ago, and nothing back. The graduate admission office replied that most decisions are made in February and March, which doesn't really help much... According to the poster right below, maybe just check the status online? 'Degree committee' as well...

Submitted application in early October. Interviewed in early November. No notification ever since. Remained "under consideration of degree committee" for ages...until just now! moved to 'awaiting decision by the board of graduate studies'! Does this mean that I'm a bit closer to admission? (or rejection?)

Congrats all who have received any type of scholarship. I was wondering if students with multiple scholarships will be asked to choose one only and other scholarships will be offered to the next person on the list? If so, it would be so kind if they could reject one as it is a dream for smn else to get it. Thanks!
