Made to wait for four months since submission to get a generic rejection email, even after I'd submitted well over a month before the application deadline. I only wish I had known considering that many universities/programs with much cheaper application fees do much better at correspondence with prospective students.

20a/1w/0r I've been tying up funding and waiting lists at 20 schools in the infinitesimal chance I get into Iowa from its waiting list. I should probably decline offers to all but one backup, but I'm a narcissist. People have told me, "Why would anyone admitted there ever say no?" That's a valid point, but maybe someone headed there might die after being struck by lightning.

I accepted my offer to Iowa and am turning down offers at the University of Minnesota, Rush, Northwestern, Memphis, Illinois State, University of Illinois, and University of Colorado - Boulder, as well as all Graduate Assistantship offers and Scholarships. Hope this helps someone on the waitlist, or those waiting to hear about funding!!

congrats to those who got the offers! is anyone planning on declining in favor of some other university? grad coordinator says another round of offers is still possible given that someone with an offer declines. the anxiety is real :(
