Please ignore the waitlist column. Does anyone have any updates on the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Ph.D. program from the University of Texas at Austin?

Denied via MyStatus. Out of state applicant

Thank you for your interest in The University of Texas at Austin. After careful consideration of your application materials, we regret to inform you that the committee on Graduate Studies has not recommended you for admission. Every year, the committee on Graduate Studies faces the difficult task of selecting a limited number of students from a group of extremely qualified and talented applicants. The committee takes very seriously the interest of each student and the care with which they submit their applications. The review process ensures that time and attention is given to consider every application in its entirety, through an individualized, holistic review of each student's achievements, talents and personal circumstances. Please know that the decision is the reflection of a very competitive applicant pool, and we are confident you have the tools to succeed wherever you decide to enroll. We wish you all the best in your studies and beyond. This is your official notification. A letter will not be mailed to you.

I'm actually relieved to be put on the waitlist! This was absolutely my reach school and I anticipated an outright rejection. Fingers crossed I make it off! (P.S. I had to email the graduate program coordinator for an update. She mentioned that all updates should've been sent last week and apologized that I didn't receive my update. If you haven't heard from them yet, I'd send her an email!)

Automated email to check portal. I interviewed here in February. CB.

Didn't receive the waitlist notif today -- but if you aren't planned to attend, please let them know asap! This is my top choice!

Pleasant surprise to receive an interview considering I transferred out of UT's engineering program to another university to study economics. Difficult to get a read on how well it went, but fingers crossed!

I've been in discussion with my PI since January but the official offer letter came today.
