TPPB: (I am the one who said it was very formal.) I don't know if they are still sending invites. If it's at all helpful, they said I would hear a decision "soon" -- so my *guess* based on that is that they are NOT still sending invites. On the other hand, the specific timeline could be very POI dependent as I was interviewed by 2 specific POI I listed. Taken together: I'd say give it a week and if no interview invite then it's safe to say they're not sending anymore. Best of luck to you regardless! And I know no information is often more stressful than bad information :/

I had the interview with my two POIs. It felt very formal compared to other interviews.

For the person who was accepted, would you mind sharing your stats? (GPA, GRE, etc.) Have you heard back from other programs? I haven't received a call from UCSB, so I'm unsure if this is a rejection or not. Congrats on your acceptance!

My GPA is not the best, but I have undergrad research experience, and really strong letters of recommendation from research advisors/professors so I think that helped balance my GPA.

They sent me a personal rejection letter before the automated one went out. Nice of them, but very bittersweet.

"The Department of Gender Studies graduate admissions committee at Indiana University has finished their first round reviews of the graduate applications for our PhD program. We would like to schedule a 15-minute zoom interview with you and have a block of time on Tuesday, January 26th or Thursday, January 28th between 4:00-6:00 p.m. (EST) set aside for these."
