To the post below..I was admitted two weeks ago, but stayed at degree committee for a couple months before moving forward. It turned out they were waiting on my supervisor to interview me. I had contacted the Divinity department to check in and that helped move things along. You might contact them.

Wondering how the Faculty of Law has not been able to go through the less than 150 applications for PHD when the application deadline was over 3 months ago! Why exactly are there candidates who have not heard back? This kind of inefficiency sucks!

To the ECE poster below: I am in ChemE. The reason for asking the question was that on Gates website, they mention that they consider applicants who are ranked in top 250 (departmental ranking)... and the email mentions that I was not selected for the interview and the shortlisting committee had to make tough decisions (5,000 applicants this year... so I was wondering if they sent this interview rejection email to everyone...

To the poster below: finally another engineering applicant! Which division are you in? I received the Gates rejection, but quite sure it is sent to everyone cauz my friend who haven't got the offer also got it.
