Letter with condolences, too many apps this year, but don't worry! We considered your application fully. Erm, thanks?

Was the email rejection from Harvard the official rejection, or did it result from an informal exchange with faculty or staff?

unofficial

le shock!

tellingly, i found the letter wrapped in this month's issue of star magazine :/

3.95 GPA, MA, recs from top people in the field, fellowships at MoMA and the Fogg, strong writing sample and SOP, second attempt after HU prof gave me pointers for this time around. Could I feel any more bad about myself?

I found it a little early. Officially everything went out yesterday.

very nice informal email from potential adviser; official letter in a few days

I previously received an email.

I called to find out when decisions would be available and was told that I was not admitted. Not a huge surprise, but one can hope.

Postmarked 3/15

received email from dept. administrator for an informal, 15 minute interview with faculty

No specifications noted in rejection letter.

Won't hear if any open slots are even available until May. Sheesh.
