Rejected with two publications, 3.9 GPA, 170/165 GRE

Received an official acceptance email yesterday evening. No interview. Area: stat. ML. The email says that they are doing rolling admits this year.

TTPB, could you please say some words about your background

Received unofficial admit from POI this morning in statistical ML. Cornell truly is doing rolling admissions---previous posters that claim otherwise are just wrong/misinformed.

The poster who claims to be involved in the admissions is an obvious troll, do not fall for it. Why would they lie in their e-mail for no reason? Seriously, dude, get a life and stop trying to make people sad. If only the admission process was more transparent, then we would not have to deal with this bs.

TTPB in admissions- on a different note, do you know when accepted students will receive funding info in the mail?

TTPB thanks for the info. But seriously.. what an inconsiderate thing to say. Do you really think saying "Do not be sad if you don't get in. Trust me, it will be better for your mental wellbeing" means anything? It seriously sounds like you are being sarcastic here trying to rub it in people who didn't make it. People spend years working on this application... how the f**k do you expect people to not feel sad when they don't get in.

Anyone admitted get their more official offer yet? Or know when might be sent?

Cornell is not doing rolling admissions this year although for some reason they claimed as such in the e-mail. Best of luck to everyone.

My POI emailed, saying I have not made the initial cut :) Profile : Research Internships in top-10 Institutes USA and the best university India. 1 CORE A* paper, 1 CORE A paper, 2 in review CORE A* conferences, 2 normal papers. Worked on building some of the most famous robots in the world. Undergrad from a top private college in India. First Decision of the season and here it goes :)

For all who are still waiting for a decision from Cornell's CS PhD program: I know someone who is currently a student there, and apparently, most acceptances are already sent. Due to the high number of deferrals, they did not have many open seats in the first place. Expect a rejection letter in March if you have not heard back from them yet. Most importantly, be safe.

If any ML folk got into Cornell, please comment. Is any ML admit out?
