My BEng GPA has a different base, directly converting, it's 3.88/4. No GRE submitted, not required to take TOFEL. 4 LoR, 2 from professors, 2 from the industry. Multiple side projects, won a few academic awards and competitions, leadership in co-curricular activities and projects. No publications. The admission rate last year was 6%, with an intake of around 25 students. Had an informal interview towards the end of January at 1-2 days' notice.

Super excited! Everyone was incredibly kind and it seems like an amazing environment

ignore waitlist. Haven't heard back from MIT. Is this IR? Have they sent out admit days date for those who were admitted, if so when is it? I am trying to see if i still could consider it.

287 applicants and only interviewed 7%, from which fewer were actually admitted

Interviewed on 2/8. Have not heard yet.

Ignore the status. Does MIT conduct interviews?

Unfortunate! One of my top 3 picks. But I got accepted at one of my other top 3 picks, so I'm grateful and happy :) GPA is undergrad from a pretty unknown school, but I was told my writing sample was fantastic, so I guess that's how I got in at other places! 1a/0w/3r/10p

I have not heard anything from MIT and Princeton. Does it mean an IR?

Ignore wl. Are the schools listed above the only remaining better ranked schools that haven't released their decision?

3.5 years of experience in R&D in defense industry. 2 publications, international student. Message: Thank you for applying to the Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT and thank you for your patience during this lengthy admissions process. Unfortunately, we are unable to admit you to our graduate program. This year we received a record number of applicants, but we were only able to admit approximately 1 in 10. As a result, we had to turn away hundreds of highly-qualified applicants. We truly wish you well in your future endeavors.

GPA is grad. 0a/0w/4r/10p
