Got a nice voicemail with the good news! 3a/0w/1r and still waiting to hear from 5 schools.

A very kind email explaining that with only three spots open for poetry, even deserving candidates have to get bumped.

Wow!

"Thank you for your interest in our program. Your application has been reviewed, and you ranked highly on a list of possible admissions. However, we have a very limited number of slots, and offers went to the candidates at the very top of the list. Should some of those turn us down, you could be hearing some more definite news from us than what I am telling you now. Essentially, you are neither denied nor admitted. While this zone of uncertainty is no doubt quite frustrating, I do want to reaffirm that your credentials are impressive, and you have been placed among the top candidates for admission to our program. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and I will be contacting you again in the future with a final word about your candidacy."

!!

Voicemail from Bruce Snider- such a nice message! Very warm & professional.

Notified I was on a short, informal waitlist after inquiring via email. Very sweet note!

Email from Catherine Bush. On a “very short waiting list.” My first choice, so fingers crossed.

It was a clear and informative letter from the director letting me know I was placed on their short wait list. Good luck to all those applying to this program.

Joining the queue, I see. This is my top choice. =/
