Received an email with a notification to check my Purdue Portal, where I found the acceptance letter!

Just received an email that I've been recommended to be accepted for the Fall 2019 program, and that I should look out for official news within the next 5 business days.

Finally got a decision from Purdue. It was a bit hard to swallow as they told me that despite my strong credentials, the professors could not take any more students. They told me that I will receive an official deny soon via e-mail. God, they took their own sweet time to reject me off of the waitlist. They told that they wanted to give their professors every chance to take in the right students for the coming fall semester and hence they took that long to send a reject.

Did anyone else receive any notification from the University regarding admission? I still have not received any decision on my application and I don't know when they will release the decisions. Contacting them at this point seems to bear no fruit as they keep saying the same thing. Has anyone else received any sort of notification as to when they will receive a decision?

After taking almost 5 months, they offered a rejection.

I heard the same thing from the graduate office. Apparently, they waitlisted my application. Expecting mass rejects this week.

Received a reply from the Grad office saying that the official replies can be expected within this week, with the admissions for Fall 2019 coming to a close soon.

TTPB: Seriously! Did they forget to send the rejection emails??

TTPB asking about Purdue WL compared to Purdue Fort Wayne. I agree mostly with the poster below who mentioned about the group of students in the university. Being a graduate who completed my bachelors from Purdue Fort Wayne, I can say that it is a great place for study though cannot be compared to Purdue West Lafayette. There are a few very good professors who offer good courses and there is a lot of scope for self-study courses that you can take up if you are interested in a particular subject. Regarding the professors and the CS department, they are extremely supportive and helpful. The class sizes are also pretty small and the professors are very approachable. The university was taken over completely by Purdue last year (was a joint university between IU and Purdue earlier) after which it is receiving great amount of funding and is growing at a rapid pace. Local companies are also increasing support to the CS department though there are not many who hire international students in Fort Wayne. However, there are many students who found jobs quickly after completing their degrees and I myself received multiple job offers. You can also attend career fairs and other events organized by Purdue West Lafayette which is greatly beneficial. I feel that if the other university that you have is better than Purdue Fort Wayne (in terms of location and local industries), then do go for it. With Purdue Fort Wayne, you always get the same Purdue degree with lesser cost.

TTPB: I am also in the same situations as yours. Havn't received any emails from them after submitting my application.

My status still says "Awaiting Decision". Do they roll out admits in May? I assumed that this late generally means it will be a reject. Have there been cases of late admits before?

To the poster(s) below, I am a software engineer living and working in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The acceptance rate for Purdue Fort Wayne Master's program in Computer Science is... 100% according to Peterson's graduate books. The program is very easy and from what I hear from my coworkers, you hardly learn anything. It's basically a fast pace undergraduate study in computer science. Keep in mind that the distinction (on the diploma and transcript) between Purdue W.L and Purdue Fort Wayne is very very drastic. As a recruiter for my company, I'd can't emphasize more on the separation of skills and talent between the students in both universities. Aside from that, Fort Wayne is in the middle of nowhere and almost no diversity. It's a great place to settle and raise family, but there is no sense of collegiate experience whatsoever. TTPB: Even I got the same email, regarding Fort Wayne campus. Does anyone have an idea about this campus? I have another offer from NCSU. Which is better?

Any idea how Fort Wayne is in comparison to Purdue W.L campus for MS CS? In any case, I can't take it up; based on earlier Purdue rejection, applied for a F-1 visa appointment already (paying visa fees of $160) and provided details of I-20 from another university.

What is taking so long for them to send a rejection letter?

Thought I was rejected since I waited for such a long time. Have already decided to another school. No funding information

TTPB: My application status is still 'submitted.' Is there anyone else waiting to hear from Purdue? Am I waitlisted? Just got rejected from UC - Irvine and this is my last hope.. any comments pertaining to Purdue's admissions would be very helpful. Thanks.
