Got the acceptance via email earlier this week. Will likely attend! Good luck to others.

Standard rejection after checking portal, probably wasn't going to go anyway.

Email to check the link to a rejection letter. Knew it was coming, had a horrible fit, but the POI was so nice that it was worth a shot. Good luck to those accepted!

email from POI

POI sent a personal note a week or so prior to my official email notification saying my app was excellent and it was likely I'd be admitted.

Received a nice email from POI telling me I was a serious contender but alas I was not given an offer of admission.

BA in French (3.7/4.0), no MA, currently in 1st year of PhD program in French elsewhere but working on architectural history, so I applied to this program unsure of how my app would be received. They invited us down to interview with faculty this past weekend. Thrilled to have been offered a spot here!

Very nice and flattering email. Seems like the waitlist is a means to expedite applicants, make us disclose our decisions as early as possible: "There is a good possibility that a funding package will become available for you, in which case we will be delighted to offer you admission to our department. We would appreciate it very much if you would let us know of your continued interest in remaining on the waitlist. We, in turn, will let you know immediately if a slot becomes available for you."

Told they would be sending out notifications Feb. 20 - 25

Received a phone call :-) Will receive official letter in the mail next week.

Informal email by POI.
