Is anyone planning on declining UO's funded offer? I'm on the waitlist for funding, and I am desperate! Hope everyone here can score their dream offer.

Anyone get waitlisted or accepted at University of Oregon, but planning on attending another program? I got wait listed but it is my number one school, and I want to get a sense of how much competition I have. :)

Has anyone been accepted off the UO waitlist? I was told they would send some wait list offers this week... I am still waiting. Thank you for any info!

I got in off of the waitlist. I think I was the first one, and they said they had one person accept the offer, one person decline, and two who they hadn't from in their original crop of offers.

To the poster below: Don't be disparaged. Most programs tend to be small and admission is based off, among other things, luck (and prestige of undergrad and many other links favoring the wealthy). Unfortunately, there is more unfairness and randomness than there should be. But keep looking forward, try to do something worthwhile in this next year, whether it be research, a related job or pursuing personal interests and apply again next year if you're ready.

Has anyone made a Class of 2020 Facebook Group yet? What should it be called?

To the poster below, maybe since you have an undergrad in robotics, they perhaps rejected you as the curriculum had less to offer you? (seeing you would have already mastered most of the courses). Research would probably be the new thing you would obtain, apart from a degree.

Got rejected from all 6 colleges I applied to, I don't know whats wrong with me, Strong LORs, Strong SOP, Patents, papers in Robotics, Bachelors in Robotics, great projects.

Well, OSU's low residency program is fairly new (est. in 2013) so it seems like it doesn't get nearly as much attention as the full residency program. Bend is lovely so those who were rejected from the Corvallis campus should consider it (I lived in Corvallis for a year and would probably prefer Bend, just saying). They extended the application date even further so they may not have gotten too many applications this year. If you are in dire straits, you should definitely apply to OSU-Cascades!!! My acceptance e-mail was extremely flattering and I feel a bit bad that I already accepted an offer elsewhere, but I truly don't think the low-residency option is for me, and I've always hoped to continue my education in NYC rather than the west coast, where I've lived all my life. Here's hoping my slot goes to someone here who may have lost hope! You still have a shot, believe me. Plus, T. Geronimo Johnson is awesome and I'm sure would be a great instructor to have.

Update from nontraditional applicant, had a Skype interview on Wednesday, was informed of acceptance on Friday. Excited! Good undergrad GPA, no prior formal background/research in robotics.
