I just want to make it clear that because of COVID-19, there are less spots at a lot of graduate institutions this cycle because it has put a lot of the current students already in the program behind, meaning they are staying longer (e.g. an extra year or more) so there is less funding for new people. Do not be disheartened if you did not get offers this cycle as it is a hard cycle to be applying in!

Received an email from POI to set up an interview on 2/19.

Accepted via the auto admit feature for current undergrad students who qualify! Yay!

I am genuinely shocked as I thought I did poorly during the interview.

How are people being notified of their rejections? I haven't heard anything at all (Social Psychology concentration).

Not even sad. The email stated they got 450 applicants which means they prolly just skimmed over most people's.

To the previous poster: It is absolutely insane this year. Less than 3% admission rate for a programme that's not even automatically funded. It's hard not to feel destroyed but it is what it is.

Y'all should know its okay to just not feel bad about this one. It's okay to not be in the top 3 to 4%. But srsly bro. Wtf. The masters was my safety choice. I already have an MPhil degree. Not even shortlisted. Alright time to let this go.

2 years of research experience. I probably should have contacted more PIs for lab positions.

I did not get anywhere. Feel so unhappy.

Expected rejection. Research interests do not match the faculty members' very well.
