I'm absolutely devastated.

Received the following email, potential selection- The UNR Graduate School and the Molecular Biosciences Graduate Programs (BCH, CMB, and CMPP) are pleased to invite you to participate in our virtual GrAdventure day on January 28, 2022. 3 year undergraduate dry lab experence. 2 pubs, 1st author pubs under review. General rejection letter, waste of time.

Generic rejection letter. What a waste

Generic email rejection letter. MIT was always a reach considering my GPA, but I have 4 years of research experience (1 as an undergrad, 1 in industry, 2 in academia as a tech) and 4 publications--two middle authorships in low-impact journals, one 4th author in nature medicine, and one in pre-print.

Not a result update, but has any international applicant heard from MIT Biology? Thanks!

"As a small interdepartmental program that admits 8-10 students a year, we have a record of 400 applications from highly qualified applicants this year like yourself. We regret that we are unable to offer you a place in our program at this time."

Was called and offered a Zoom interview. Shortly after the interview, I got invited to the Recruiting Weekend to be held in February. No GRE; co-authored on two publications; roughly 1yr of research experience.

Kind of expected due to issues with one recommendation submission. Sent an email at 12pm.
