I decided to wait on the oxford position

Interviewed 3 times (on Mid Feb, Mid Mar and last week, respectively) and finally made it on the very "last" day -- Apr/15.

TTPB: Really sorry to hear that - though I think they technically told you the truth - this is a very specific scholarship that hasn't been announced yet only for students in Byzantine Studies. So it isn't really a departmental scholarship in the sense that it isn't awarded by the History faculty at large.

To the poster below, what kind of departmental funding? I was told by the history faculty that they don't have departmental funding...

I'm American and have a BA from an American university, two UK Master's (M.Phil, Oxon and MA). Shortlisted for a departmental scholarship specific to my subject area, but will still take the place if I don't get it.

I've just declined fully funded offers from these schools. Good luck to those on the waitlist!

I just got accepted (informally by the Director of Studies) after I asked about my current status via Mail. Official offer will be sent next week. I had a an informal offer by the respective professors already by mid February.

Sent several mails to the oxford graduate admissions office with no response . Has anyone got any offer for Dphil yet ?

To the applicant who was waitlisted in early March and received an offer on March 30, did you send additional documents or just sat tight and waited for the final decision? Would really help the rest of us still waiting for this course!

TTPB: Congrats to your other admissions!!! If you are going to better place than Oxford, could you please kindly withdraw your application? It might increase chance of me and others who wants the place as first shot. Thank you and good luck with your studies!

Ttpb: That sounds really strange. Why they dont even interview/reject/accept strong candidates for 2 months? POI said me that he is happy to work with me, but I am waitlisted. It is the best shot I have, so I am waiting.

I applied about 2 months ago and still have not get an interview yet. I emailed asking the AO if they have rejected me already and the answer is no. They told me I am a strong candidate but still need to wait patiently for another two weeks. TBH I don't know what are they doing over the past months. I have already been admitted to better places but just want to see how this one ends, so far it's been not very pleasing. I'm gonna have to withdraw when April 15th hits.
