Nice letter. I have a friend who is in the program rn, so idk if that had any effect on my decision?

I received an email to check the website. No signed letter or anything.

Someone saw potential! I am ecstatic about this after two rejections... waiting (as patient as I can) on one more school.

The acceptance letter was dated March 9, but my the online application portal still says "Hello, thank you for your application to Indiana University. Your application will be reviewed by the graduate program you have applied to shortly."

Polite rejection with suggestion for applying in the future.

Still in shock and gratitude. Offered half-tuition remission, hoping for better but still. Wow.

Rejected. O well. Already have a better offer. To the poster below who is local: have you read the faculty's poetry? It has a somewhat experimental aesthetic--it might just be an issue of style. If you try again next year, you might want to try UC-Boulder as well (funded, but also experimental). Also, maybe read some of the poetry from the faculty (or maybe read things in veins that their interested in by reading interviews) at both places (if you haven't) and maybe see where it takes your work? If you can't move, that might be a good way to prepare for applying again next year. Also, it couldn't hurt to read some good poetry =)

Brief polite letter dated 3/8. I'm nontradional student with kids and mortgage, and can't move, so this was only school I applied to. Was a newspaper columnist, peace officer, homeschool teacher (applied for GTA as well), and wrote and performed stand-up comedy. Thought my poetry was somewhat developed...was a bad student in my youth as an undergrad; wondering if my lower GPA was to blame? Going to cry as soon as I'm alone.

Email to check website. Not surprised since I didn't get an interview, but did it really have to be first thing Monday morning?

Got an email this morning to check the status in the app portal. Added another rejection to the ever-growing list, which is fun. Happy Monday! 1a/0w/5r

Had to log into the admissions portal. Looks like I'm not going to Texas this year. 1a/0w/4r

Accepted half tuition Scholarship 2a/1w

Received a lovely call from Elisabeth Sheffield. Full funding, top poetry pick...still in shock

At least this was a nice rejection letter!
