Addressing the question about Iowa portal status. Rejection letter received via mail, but status on MyUI remains "In progress..."

Entirely expected. However, I'm still peeved that Iowa insists on wasting paper/destroying trees to send little typed paragraphs when they could simply email us.

Sam Chang wrote on the bottom of my letter, "You were a finalist!" Obviously not enough to make the waitlist.

In response to the question about Iowa. I just received my rejection letter in the mail yesterday and it still shows "in progress" on the website.

For those of you who have received a rejection letter from Iowa via postal mail--does your application status on the portal still say "In Progress"? I'm assuming most acceptances already went out, but I haven't received a rejection letter either....

Letter postmarked 3/1/17. 4a/1w/3r

Not unexpected. Score so far: A: 2 (fic & nonfic both at Montana), WL: 2 (Michigan, Syracuse), R: 5? (I've lost track...) Best of luck everyone!

Didn't get this special "high ranking" waitlist others are talking about haha but a waitlist! Seems like Iowa has a lot of people on waitlist though...

At least it's getting easier to witness my dreams being crushed before my eyes lol. 1a/1w/6r/4pending.

Well, this one stung. Letter was dated March 1 and arrived today. I wasn't really counting on this one, but the cold tone of that half-paragraph letter was pretty brutal. Congrats to all who got in. 1a/0w/1r waiting on 3 more.
