Had a couple of great interviews, was really hopeful of getting in. Waitlist stings a little :)

Congrats to the accepted ones!

It is well!

Applied to LLK

I had an informal interview with the PI during a Fall open house, then I had a bunch of Skype interviews with various grad students during February. I thought all my interviews went really well, and people seemed to think I'd be a great fit. The waitlist stings, not gonna lie. Hopefully they reconsider me next year.

Email : Thank you for your application to the graduate program in Media Arts and Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for Fall 2019. We regret that we are not able to offer you admission. We received more than 1300 applications and were able to admit less than 5%. In selecting so few from a large and talented group, we must turn down many qualified applicants. We wish you the best for your future plans. Program in Media Arts and Sciences

Very disappointed :/

The only thing I want to report: despite their repeatedly claiming portfolio to be the most important factor, actually they still filter applicants via educational background & recommendation & etc. It can be further confirmed by the fact that my portfolio site has no visits since last December. Throw no more coins into that 1,300-strong wishing well: the spirit is stuffed, and listen, he burps!
