graduated BA Geology 2021, NASA internship and research, talked to PI ahead of time but she said there was no funding.

Third interview.

Asked to apply to MS

They asked me to apply to MA but I don't know if they just tell everyone that or not.

This is my top choice, please decline if you have dominant offers

Damn... "Thank you for your application to the Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education offered by the University of British Columbia's Vancouver Campus for the term beginning September 1, 2026. We regret to inform you that your application for this graduate program was not successful. Each year, many good applicants are declined admission to the University of British Columbia. Common reasons for declining applicants include unavailability of appropriate faculty advisors and/or funding for the applicant, an applicant’s less competitive academic record, and simply the limited number of spots available in graduate programs. Due to the significant number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide applicants with specific explanations for being declined. We wish you well in your future endeavors. Thank you for your interest in pursuing graduate studies at the University of British Columbia."

An email sent to check the decision on the portal. Offered MA in Psychology in Education.

Emailed for an update, got a rejection

Canadian applicant. I suspect my proposed research didn't quite line up - there was only one prof but it seems like they are no longer available. Good luck to everybody else!
