Another form letter rejection :( :( :(

So like...who in the world can afford 90k a year without financial aid? And how can a university with a $9 billion endowment offer a student nothing to attend? I have no idea how this school fills its slots every year. Of course I would love to go but i'm not a wealthy poet and I'm shocked this program even exists because I'm not sure there are wealthy poets anywhere...kudos to you if you can fund your own Columbia MFA. Anybody know where to get a 90k/year scholarship outside the institution? ...Anybody?

To the poster below: I'm not the one who had just posted, but when I recieved my call, I was told on the phone that I got a 20K scholarship. They offer an additional 20K in loans (Fed. Unsubsidized?), but I think every student recieves those.

Congrats to those who got in! I'll be here waiting, if anyone decides to decline an offer-- my first choice. :)

Posted earlier about a missed call from lasky, she finally just emailed me saying I got in. Portal online updated with more info a few hours after, financial aid is terrible, they're offering me 20k in loans for a 90k program...

If admitted (congrats!) & you decide on elsewhere please notify ND asap -- top choice school for this waitlister. (note: repost from the poetry-only list, as a typo originally landed this on that smaller list only)

This is neat 2a/1w/3r

I wasn't even expecting this. Either way, this is a win.

Says I've been selected to receive a Mills Scholarship of $17,504.00. I'm not sure if that is full or partial. Website is confusing. 3a/1w/3r

Hey, y'all! How is everyone's funding looking?

damn. QUEER BLACK POET & Ima f'ing WAITLISTED!?!

oh dang

Said they are sending info in the mail. No idea about their funding.

To the poster below: this may not be the answer you're looking for, but I don't think any program is worth going in to "big" debt.

Does anyone know if this program is worth going into big debt?
