Notified by the department after having a skype talk with the POI last weekend. 28k stipend award and also includes a tuition scholarship and covers student health insurance plan.

Accepted via phone, almost fully funded, super excited was top choice.

While interviewing, they offered an admission.

Applied to the same PhD program for the second consecutive year. This is a very competitive PhD program. Talked with some professors, but that did not help at all.

Even after picking another university, this still smarts!

To the person asking about stats. I had a 3.57 overall gpa, 3.6 in the major. GRE I think it was around 154 verbal, 152 quant, and 4 writing. I also have a lot of experience in the field teaching abroad and online and I am bilingual in Spanish. Hope that helps :)

I am finishing a Master's degree with a thesis at the moment. They are offering a stipend of $22k, which is good for the area. Very happy about this. Still waiting to see about other schools.
