TTPB: I got admitted for Fall 2020 after being waitlisted. There was a confusion whether they allow it or not. I drop the mail on official viterbi graduate email address. I received the reply that I can update my term within one year of my application and was given the term update form. My eligibility admission notification letter also doesn't mention any sort of thing that I cannot update my term. Given the current circumstances I don't think they will hold any student in such a tight spot, it just not make any sense. Still I am on my heels, I don't know when and where things will get messed up and backfire.

ttpb, i think that we should brace ourselves for the rejection. It's pretty much clear now. or maybe the're buying time until others who got admitted have to give a decision by the deadline which is 8th july. I dont know, lets just wait and see. Btw does anyone know if they're letting waitlisted admits to defer admission to next year? if not than even if it's a acceptance, it's no better than a rejection.

I just heard back from USC regarding the query i sent by email about the status of my application. the emails says "Thank you for your email. Your file indicates that a decision has been issued on your application. Please note, it may take 48-72 hours for your decision to be available on youSC."

You guys are lucky that you got a decision, doesn't matter if it was a rejection. I'm still waiting for the motherfuckers to give me a decision. I have emailed them twice in the last three days but they don't care to reply. Any ways, if the wait-listed admits can't update the term or defer their admission than an admit is just as useless as a rejection. All admits should write aggressive emails to usc and demand your right to defer in these covid hit times. Find emails of the dean or the any one on the admission committee post them here so everyone can email them. Hopefully if you all exert enough pressure you guys maybe able to defer your admission

Here's a conundrum for you guys. Same university but two people speaking different things. I talked about the term update to uni staff through unibuddy. They said you can't do it. But I received email to my admitted student query that I can. Before you guys panic I want you guys to know that you should make an informed decision. I am going to believe to the reply of the email I got. Because this time is very difficult for everyone and I don't think the university will do such injustice to students they accepted. Though I was impressed by the online fall 2020 option. Before you guys decide, please make an informed decision.

To all international students who have received admits to USC AFTER being waitlisted, regardless of your program -- CS, EE, whatever -- you CANNOT defer to Fall 21 or Spring 21. The only option you have is to choose between Fall 20 in-person or online. And know this, they did this to fill Fall 20 seats as most Fall 20 admits have deferred to next year. Yes they dealt absolutely shitty, and fucking selfish cards, but that shows who they are. I hope you have learnt your lesson, and not apply here next year. They don't deserve another chance, and certainly not your money. Fuck you USC. All of my respect for this "great college" has turned to ashes.

TTPB: It is true. I messaged them on unibuddy. They have confirmed that the admit doesn't involves the option of deferral so that's true...fall 2020 admitted students can't defer. At this point they have tied our hands. They have played an evil card. At this point I have accepted. They just want to fill their seats. USC is bs. I can't believe they want me to attend fall 2020 on campus given the current Covid 19 situation in just one month. For international students online is not at all the option given they didn'tapply for this. It's official they played dirty.

Recieved a mail of 'Academic Eligibility for Admission'. No option of deferral mentioned on the mail, only on-campus and online fall 2020 starts. ~3 Years Experience in Data Analytics and Data Science, TOEFL: 116, No publications.

I received the email that I am academically eligible. The problem is how I am gonna manage to do everything as being an international student. Does anybody know that whether I am eligible to defer to spring or fall next year. Mail only mentions to start online or offline

What do we do now? The dealine that usc provided in the waitlist email was 1st july. I'm an international applicant. Finally. Fucking finally, after waiting for 218 days I can get closure. They said that I\'m academically eligible to get in, they\'ll send the official admit letter by July 15 when I demonstrate proof of ability to pay tuition and living expenses. The mail also says I gotta pay $500 as commitment deposit by July 31 if I choose the offer. I didn\'t visit the USC Graduate websites for info, but the mail I got says I got 2 options — Fall 2020 in-person, or Fall 2020 online followed by Spring in-person. On visiting their "Newly Admitted" website however, I see there are 4 options -- one can even defer to Fall \'21.\r\n\r\nI\'ll probably reject the offer, it\'s way too costly -- living expenses, and everything else included. I already have 2 just as good offers (with scholarship). \r\nTo those reading — if you\'re accepted, good for you, really. If you were rejected after all this wait, you have me on your side too. USC will always be \"Uni of Stupid Cunts\" or \"Uni of Spoilt Children\" for me.\r\nCheers.
