Surprised by this rejection.

Sent email to check application status (rejection). Disappointed I didn't get an interview.

UG at Italian university. Not surprised.

High GPA, no GRE, 4 middle author and 1 first author pub in mid-tier journals. Almost 3 years full time lab experience post grad.

Actually thought I had a good chance..

Rejected with generic email from admissions coordinator. Not surprised, no interview and not the best fit with PI

I emailed asking for an update and received a seemingly automated email saying notifications will be sent out no later than March 15th

To last poster: I've not even heard of people getting an interview. So many rejections meaning competition this year must be very fierce.
