Ignore the status. Has anyone heard back from any of these schools?

GPA is from Masters.

Email to check status in portal. Expected, since I saw acceptances + waitlists go out a couple of days ago. A little disappointed, since faculty had shown interest in my work, but also they had a student who had worked on a similar field a couple of years back, which could be one of the reasons why the application was rejected. 0/0 at this point, but all it takes is one yes! Congrats to all those admitted!

Got an email to check portal and was told I wasn't accepted.

Referred to MAPH program!

Notified that status was updated on website.

Generic rejection letter.

Already got offers from two top programs, so it didn't bother me. I do want to say though that UChicago was the only program I applied to that didn't ask for a personal statement (only SoP). I was tbh a little shocked about this because it struck me as being disinterested in my personal background which had played quite a formative role in my becoming a classicist. This uninviting impression is only subjective, of course. Nonetheless, I do hope my other future colleagues who are eagerly waiting for results from UChicago can take heart if you didn't get an automated "check your portal" notification ;P!
