CS Undergrad with 1 pub outside of the field and 3 strong LOR

CS Undergrad from old IIT; 5 publications in the field; Wrote my thesis at UIUC. Got an admit with RA (under the professor I worked with during my thesis).

TTPB is probably fake. A single person with 3 fake posts. Sad :/

POI I had interviewed with told me I hadn't been selected. He also told me most admits for MSCS have been sent and only rejects are left now. Extremely sorry!!

TTPB who got rejected from the Ph.D. program: Sorry fellow applicant. I have applied to the MS program and expecting a rejection today. Did you get a rejection email from the CS department or a status update on the application portal?

Well, well, well... it's the cursed rejection day yet again.

TTBP, were you interviewed and who is your POI (if you feel comfortable to reveal)? I was not interviewed and have heard nothing so far.

TTPB who was rejected: I highly doubt the credibility of your post. I applied for the Ph.D. program last year and the rejection mail was sent by the CS department. On the application portal, it just said "Program Review Complete - Contact your Proposed Program for Decision Information". And I don't mean that I am expecting a positive decision so close to the decision deadline, but AFAIK the rejection mail will be sent by the CS department.

Just checked Application Portal and saw rejected in Application Status. Emailed POI multiple times but got no reply. Tho she saw my mail multiple times. Atleast could have replied that she is not taking any students this year. Pubs in EMNLP and AAAI with extensive NLP research exp and interns from Big 4. This is the worst, This is the worst!!

Accepted to the CS PhD program at UIUC on 3/11 and notified of an additional fellowship ($3000/year) on 3/12. I'm honestly shocked, I assumed they would have sent out all their acceptances already! Stats: undergrad 4.0 GPA from a decent US public university, several publications but all in applied ML fields, strong LORs (I think). Area: ML

TTPB: In the same boat. But not sure if anyone knows the answer to that question. I'm thinking it'll be a rejection for me since I didn't have an interview. Good luck!
