CP. What even is the point of applying at this point if all you get is a generic rejection letter and an entirely opaque process? Graduted with latin honors in undergrad and master's from a globally renowned and very highly ranked university. Have a co-authored publication, open-source R package, multiple published Datasets and R&R for 2 working papers, predoc with an ERC project. What signals do they really need at this point?

I got the letter by email. I had hope after meeting with faculty but I had already been told that this year is very competitive and with limited resources.

18 rejections! so cruel, so harsh, so pathetic IR and Method subfield... Thus, Cornell was not a great fit
