IIT Undergrad, Good Research with a paper at 1 top conference in ML. Did know I wont make the cut for PhD, so applied for MS. And morons consider me for PhD. Will go to probably the best school in Europe. Canada and USA simply don't want me, given some 5 schools haven't gotten back to me from US so far.

Been encouraged by three different professors before submission; However, none of them replied back after I contacted them to look out for my application. Not sure if it is because their being super competitive or my being international? Would a high prestigious university like this ignore diversity? And also, my application status never changed to in progress, while others that got an interview did. I feel like they did not even look at my application whatsoever, what a waste of money, time, and energy. Such a long wait for this.

My area is ML/NLP and everyone knows that the UoT CS program is super competitive. But what is bothering me is the fact that a new faculty encouraged me to apply, even contacted the department to allow me for the late submission. Promised me for an interview in January. Never did the interview, nor replies back. She could have given me some task or assignment and then reject me. Waste of time, energy, money. I could have contacted other faculties. Applied twice to UofT, once in 2017, and once now. The fun fact is that I work in a company where I recently interviewed two MSc. from UofT CS, eager to get a job. Congrats to people who got in.

Hilarious!! 4 faculty members expressed interest in my profile before and after submission! If you're not gonna admit internationals for MSc, why bother taking applications? You want the money? Go to hell. Had strong LoRs and internships.

Domestic applicant. Expected by now but still disappointing :(
