Does Florida e-mail applicants the results, or do I have to check my status every day?

I initially received an email on March 19 saying I have been 'recommended' for admission and I will receive the offer letter once my documents are verified. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, I mailed them saying I cannot send my official transcripts now. I didn't receive any reply until April 14, where I was told my application has been rejected since they couldn't verify all my documents.

We had a very large number of competitive applications this year and the committee had to make many difficult decisions. We were hoping to be able to make more offers, but I regret to inform you that we were unable to expand the class and unfortunately we will not be able to make you an offer of admission. Ultimately, we have to decline hundreds of very well qualified students. I wish you the best with your future academic endeavors.

TPB: the Economics Department in the UF is just a stupid place. They never reply to emails they received from applicants and will not tell you the result.

While our admissions process is not yet complete, it does not appear likely that we will be able to offer your admission into our program this year. Normally, we wait until we have filled all of our positions prior to sending out notifications. However, I believe this is appropriate notice in case it is helpful for your other offer decisions that need to be made.

Has anyone heard from University of Florida yet? I have not received any information yet.

I'm very surprised I didn't even get waitlisted here because I got into schools that are higher ranked and more competitive! This all feels so random haha oh well

To the last person who posted about UF, I've been in contact with their chair of graduate admissions and as of noon today (4/14) they still hadn't made any offers to people on the waitlist. FWIW, he told me I was high on the waitlist, but I accepted another offer today. Hope this helps

Waitlisted Candidates: Did anyone of you contact and hear back from the program?

I officially rejected my offer and turned down a GA position at Rush today :( Very sad that I'm not able to attend, but I fell in love with the school I chose!

Any update for waitlisted from UF? If you're not planning to attend Florida please withdraw soon. I'm on a couple of waitlists with no acceptances. Thank you so much!!
