Recommended for admission by dept. Final decision comes "shortly". Financial aid decisions "will be made at a later date". Letter dated Jan 19th. Declared intent to pursue Ph.D. on application.

Unofficial admission from graduate chair with no fund mentioned. No fund = no fun. Wait for the official one. Good luck to you all!

No word on financial aid though.

it took them 5 months to figure this out. they never answered any questions whenever I emailed or called them I was beginning to think they had actually just lost it.

I called the graduate admissions for the ECE department on May 1 and was told they're working on the final review. He said they hoped to have it finished by the week that just ended, but that clearly didn't happen. I'm guessing admissions notifications will go out in the next week or two.

Is there anybody still waiting the decision from ECE department? I do not know when the grad admission committee get together to review applications and make decisions if you have any idea please share.

I regret to inform you that the Graduate Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering is unable to recommend your admission to the Graduate School. Each year we receive hundred of applications for our program. Obviously, we cannot admit everyone, and our program is highly competitive. We evaluate all applications on the applicant's GPA, rank of institutions, GRE scores, TOEFL scores, recommendation letters, background and need for students in that area. Your denial was not based on one item. However, we do not discuss the reasons for denials with the applicants. I sincerely hope that you will be able to advance your education in other ways. Sincerely yours,
