Verily, a polluted stream is man. One must be a sea to be able to receive a polluted stream without becoming unclean.

GPA is M.A.

Just sent an email to ask if all decisions (acceptance, rejection, and waitlist) will be out today. Reply "Currently, the Department is still in the process of notifying applicants. You should have a decision by tomorrow."

American

Someone else mentioned that they have a strong focus on industry, but I would put it differently. There's a lot of opportunity for students who want to go into industry, but that's not necessary a focus of the university itself. The program seems pretty broad and can be tailored for whatever you find interesting/want to go into.

They interview around 110 people and accept around 80-90, so if you interviewed you’re probably in! I plan on rejecting because they have too strong of a focus on industry for me (though that’s probably a good thing for a lot of other people)

Nominated admission

Took them long enough. Well, was not my top choice either. Thanks for wasting my time.

To the poster below who received a Ph.D. offer from Berkeley. Congratulations! Could you please share your CV? In addition, you are completely right. I am still waiting for the UCSD, and there is no answer at all. What do you think about my CV? Is there any chance for me to get an acceptance from the UCSD? (M.S. GPA=4/4, 1 published paper, 1 paper in peer review, impressive recommendation letters based on my professors' assertion not seen by myself).

"You have been nominated for admission by the UC San Diego Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department!"

Call from advisor, very kind and thoughtful. Expressed excitement from department.

unofficial admission: "You have been nominated for admission by the UC San Diego Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department! "
