Aww :(

"We received over 800 applicants this year, and the limited size of our program means that we can admit only 2.25% from this very strong pool." It's nice to get some closure. I'm primarily a nonfiction writer, so I'm hoping the nonfiction programs I applied to have a more favorable answer.

Form rejection via email

Pretty shocked but obviously very happy too. 1A/1W/1R/9P

really excited about this one!!

Prose. Second time applying, second time on the waitlist.

!!! 1a/0w/4r/7p

No info on if waitlist is ranked or how long it is, but only 5 admits per genre and 4% admission rate. I'm a writer, I will not be doing the math.

I don't know how many are on the waitlist, but there were only 7 available spots in the program this year.

Standard-fare email notification.

Received an email that directed me to the application portal.

Standard form rejection email. Super bummed, but what can you do.

So grateful, this is my top choice! fingers crossed a spot opens up.

Email to check portal. Update read: I am writing to inform you that upon the recommendation of the English (MFA) program, you have been denied admission to the University of Kansas for the Fall 2022 term. This decision was reached after careful review of your application materials by the graduate faculty in the English (MFA) program. (GPA is graduate level).

Very kind waitlist notification via email with a follow-up email. 4 spots for 400 fiction applicants, 12 applicants on the waitlist. So grateful!!!!
