Rejected without interview.

Email from my POI, and the formal offer letter will come a few days later. Subfield China (late imperial). Hold a MA, no GRE, GPA is BA's. Big surprise! Fell so grateful! Best of luck to other applicants!

POI emailed me to let me know the department's decision. I didn't have an interview and didn't think I had a chance!! Congrats to those admitted!

Very happy! This program is my top choice in the US. International doing undergrad in CS & Humanities in the US (LAC, no high ranking, but is known for it is unique program), No GRE, 2 Big Tech internships + some other internships, 2 strong recs from the head of CS department and previous internship manager. Waiting on merit scholarship decisions.

Finishing my MA at Cornell, GPA is my MA's GPA which is actually a 4.1/4.3. My research was featured in Nature, Smithsonian Mag, Archaeology Mag, and CNN Science. I was a awarded a Fellowship, helping a professor research his book, and worked full-time throughout my whole degree. The university even uses me and my research as their poster child... basically was told I needed to go to a bigger university for my PHd. Only applied to Cornell this round, so gutted....

I was an employee of Cornell, so it had to have been an issue of not having a faculty member who wanted to advise me. This fucking sucks.

POI emailed me to say the department met today and admitted me (had interview a few weeks back), formal letter to follow soon!

no surprise. congrats to all who got in. 0a/1r/3p

Not surprising, no interview.
