EIC of my undergrad school's magazine, won competitive journalism scholarship program in my country, 2+ years experience working in a newsroom, multiple articles published with reputable news outlet

email received from the head of the area.

I got a nice email letting me know that I'm on the short waitlist and that they are aiming for a cohort of 8. I won't be attending if I got in, because UC Irvine is a way better fit. Also, I did my undergrad at Stanford and I feel like that's frowned upon. 3a/2w/3 interviews waiting to hear back/7 pending.

Finally heard back via a kind email from the co-chairs of the admissions committee. The fit wasn't the best, so overall this is great news for my other applications! I will accept my place on the waitlist to see how the rest of this cycle shakes out. 1a/1w/0r/5p
