I formally declined my offer to Tulsa due to having a better offer elsewhere. Sending good wishes to the wait-listed people at the program!

Now I don't have to worry about the tuition fee and living expense lol. The waiting for this year is done.

To the OII/Social Data Science MSc applicants below: I can only speak for my experience with the DPhil interview panel, but hopefully I can provide a bit of guidance on what to expect. The questions I was asked over a c. 45 min Skype interview: tell us about the most interesting or unexpected finding you came across in your recent publication; what is it that makes your proposed study unique or important; apart from the supervisor you have proposed, are there any other faculty in the department that you could see yourself working with, and if so why; how did you hear about the OII; what are your long-term career and personal ambitions. I think that's about it! More than anything, be prepared to stand your ground and defend your interest in whatever topic it is that most floats your boat - they're a friendly bunch, but will gently test your passion/understanding of the topic at hand rather than merely take your responses at face value, smile, and move on.

Accepted off the waitlist! Out of state applicant, had mediocre GRE & GPA scores, experience with nursing.

Went to UA for undergrad, excited but plan to decline my offer and give up my spot so someone else has the chance to attend!

An international student in UBC, average 85.No GRE. I asked the faculty last Friday, and they said they just finished half of applications. So take easy, there is still a lot of time. They scheduled to finish all in a couple of weeks.

I had sent a mail asking for the status of the application. I was told that the first round of offers have already been sent and that they will notify waitlisted and denied applicants by the end of the week. Fingers crossed.

Very honored by this acceptance- did not think I would get in! Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to accept- hopefully that will help some out!

My online portal has yet to update, but received an acceptance letter in the mail! If your portal hasn't updated, there's still hope! Apparently the last round of letters was mailed Friday, so everyone should hear something this week!

Some people had their portal update before their letter came. Make sure to keep checking your portal!!
