We received a record number of applications this year and were able to interview many strong candidates for the program, including yourself. Your application and interviews were reviewed favorably by the MCB Admission Committee, but we are unable to make you an offer of admission and your application status is "hold". The earliest we would be able to get in touch with you about a final outcome for your application will be in the beginning of April. We recognize that this timing is not ideal for you and we will get in touch as soon as possible with any updates. We sincerely appreciate the time you took to apply to the program and participate in our virtual interview day and we valued the opportunity to meet you.

Undergrad GPA 3.3, masters GPA 3.6. Received email from PI's that I was accepted.

had a talk with potential PI; good fit research interest with the potential PI; had my own funding up to 3 years for doing PhD but PI has no additional funding.

Rejected from PhD program, however was notified in my email that my application was competitive just not a good fit for a PhD. So, they let me know they forwarded my application to the Master's program for consideration. I'm open minded so we'll see how it goes moving forward.

Emailed the grad office because my status was gone for over a week. They let me know I was not admitted by the department.

Rejected without Interview. Was expecting this - especially after others started posting their acceptances. Congrats to those who were accepted!!

The letter said- "It is a pleasure to invite you to join the Fall 2022 class of the Graduate Program in Molecular & Cellular Biology (MCB) at Stony Brook University. We extend offers to very few candidates, so this invitation reflects our high opinion of your academic achievements and our confidence that you will be a wonderful colleague."

Got call from a PI (not one I ever interacted with)

IGNORE Status. Has anyone who applied to UW's PhD in Biology for Fall 2022 heard anything? I looked at previous years and March 2nd was the latest date for posts. Interviews were usually around February. But I haven't seen or heard anything on here or from my application.
