An email told me that the status changed. Subfield: Psycholinguistics. I was applying for the direct-entry PhD program.

Waitlist position #1.

Admitted to the Theory Group. No interview. Graduated from UBC (Canada) a couple years ago. GPA is like 90+/100. No publications. Will accept the offer as I only applied to UofT and UWaterloo. Like Toronto (the city) better.

PL. Got a "there is a new update on your application" email.

Got notified by email today by someone from the committee, getting an official letter soon!

Email from DGS

Accepted with $32K funding for five years. Official letter will be sent later. Very likely to accept this offer. My background: have master's degree in mathematics (Pure mathematics) from the top university in my home country. GRE Subject Math 940 (96%).

I received an email in which I was told that a writing sample on a subject closer to my primary areas of interest would be appreciated, so I sent one to them.

Invited on Feb. 2nd to attend the "Graduate Research Day" being held by the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering towards the end of February, where applicants can introduce themselves to potential faculty supervisors. I have already reached out to several professors independently by email, and had one unofficial interview a little while ago.

Invited to set up interviews with three professors in the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies. All three professors I had previously reached out two via email before applying on January 15th. My GPA for 3rd and 4th year (the number UTIAS cares about) is 4.0.

Accepted to the 4-years program.
