Major bummer. Got rejected by my alma mater with a letter signed by the professor who ghosted me when I asked him for a letter of recommendation for grad school.

chair invited me to apply, was asked to interview just days after the application deadline and was rejected anyways. was told they interviewed 10 candidates and accepted 4.

Checked junk folder and found email to check portal. GPA is MA. Had not established POI, research crosses several fields and is heavy in theory and interdisciplinary work, wondering if that’s hard to match. One a. so far was from a program with an extremely large department willing to assign two advisors. I think this makes 1a/5r/5p.

2.5 yrs research experience, no pubs

GPA is MA. Received email at 11:30PM to check portal. Subfield is modern Britain + Middle East. 0a/4r/1p, again, it's looking bleak.

Deferred to the Terminal MA (unfunded)

The email went to the spam folder.

Waitlisted, will learn more in April.

Originally applied to Ph.D., accepted for M.A. instead

No email yet, just happened to check the application portal.
