Got email to check portal. DICE Track. Admission denied. Do they take very less students in the DICE track for MS ECE. Because other tracks seem to be getting admits which are not so competitive.

I received an email to check MyStatus. I had my fingers crossed, but it seems as though this year wasn't the right time. I will work in the meantime and reapply next year. I really do hope to improve the delayed results. Three months after is pretty late to be receiving results, especially since people aren't sure whether to apply to full-time positions or wait to hear back.

I mailed Barry 2 times. The first time he sent me a generic email stating that the result will come out within few days. After some days I mailed again, and this time he stated that I am being rejected. I am talking about the most awaited DICE track's decision. ALL THE BEST TO THE REST OF YOU GUYS. My journey ends here.

I highly recommend that you save your application fee, and do not apply to UT Austin's ECE program. Not only do I feel it is not transparent with its criteria, but took the latest among all colleges to apply. Seriously not worth it. All the best!

TTBP: My research area is Biomedical Imaging. I had a publication as well. Can you please explain about benefits from "departmental scholarship". I don't fully understand what it gives.

TTPB: Barry has been copy-pasting this response since a month. There is no use in emailing him. Barry will send the decisions whenever he feels like.

Got an email for acceptance. After a long wait. Probably won't go. No info about any scholarship information.

After more than 4 months and a half, with a potential supervisor and self-funded, and dozen of emails!!!!!! I just received a letter of denying!! What they are doing this whole period! Why they just accepting students with a scholarship!! I don't recommend anyone to apply to this school and this department especially unless he is fully funded!!

Received an email to activate my AIS. The rejection letter was posted there a few hours later. They took more than 4 months to review the application without any communication during this period.

Which research area? Do you have POI? you must contact him.

Finally got accepted. Status updated on AIS. But how do I know about status of scholarship from department?

I for the person who comment previously (about funding)! I applied before 15 Dec, 2020 and still don't have anything updated, acceptance, or even no one reply!

I recently found out that they are only providing fellowship/RA/TA to those who applied before 1/1. My first thought was WTF. Never seen any related information until I get admitted. Don't even know why they made the deadline 2/1. The ture deadline was 1/1 though, but not notified clearly on the website. Glad I already accepted offer from another university.
